Like all horse sports, racing must constantly evaluate its rules, undertake research, and support progressive practices that benefit the horses. The work of the Racing Medication and Testing Consortium, the NTRA Safety and Integrity Alliance, Thoroughbred Charities of America, and Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation are a few examples of industry efforts toward these ends. We encourage anyone interested in horse welfare to read what these organizations do and support them in their efforts.
